Tottenham Hotspur fans who booed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario were informed afterwards "they can't be true Spurs fans" by boss Thomas Frank.

Spurs conceded a pair of scores in the opening six minutes to lose 2-1 to Fulham, registering their 10th top-flight at home loss of the year.

However the main talking point was Fulham's next score when the keeper lost possession far outside his box.

The goalkeeper came out to deal with a high pass and took the ball near the touchline.

However, rather than kicking it into touch, the Italian spun and attempted to clear away, but lost his footing as the ball glanced off Wilson and was collected by Josh King.

The forward laid the ball off to Welsh midfielder Wilson, who curled a shot into the goal from the touchline measured at thirty-six point six metres.

Seconds afterwards when the ball went to Vicario once more, a number of Spurs fans booed him.

The team were jeered off at the interval, with the side 2-0 behind, and again at the final whistle.

One of those jeering sessions truly irritated Frank.

"It came to my attention some of our fans apparently jeered the situation and booed following, which, in my opinion is totally unacceptable," the Dane stated about the supporters' reaction to his shot-stopper.

"[They] cannot be real Spurs supporters that act that way. Fair enough jeering following the match, fine, but when we are in play, we are supporting each other, we are behind one another going forward."

Tete had given Fulham a fourth-minute lead before Wilson's strike – with Kudus scoring for Tottenham in an better second period showing.

Ex- Premier League keeper Hart remarked that the next goal was "completely avoidable".

"I do appreciate the supporters' frustration," the ex-keeper continued. "I am aware the role the keeper is playing. He is a excellent squad member, he's a true leader in the locker room but ultimately you are going to be assessed by your actions.

"He was heavily involved in what ended up to be the winning score."

'It is In the Game, I'm a Big Man'

Italy international Vicario is in his third campaign with Spurs.

He stated after the match that he had to accept the criticism.

"The second score was a mistake of my own, I take responsibility for it," he said.

"My aim was to kick the ball far and I simply hit the ball in a bad way. It was an more difficult challenge to overcome."

He stated receiving jeers "comes with football".

"I am mature, what can I say?" he added. "The team can't be affected by the circumstances in the crowd. The fans have the right to do what they think.

"It's on the team to stay increasingly calm, to focus on ourselves. The team is missing in calmness and poise to overturn results. Today is a bad loss and it's tough to take."

'I Was Surprised No One Returned to the Line'

Despite the keeper's error, it was far from an easy score for Wilson to score.

Actually it was the next most distant top division score of the season – following Tyler Adams' forty-three point three yard strike for Bournemouth against Sunderland, which interestingly too occurred on Saturday.

Wilson stated he was "a little bit surprised" that he still had an open goal to target.

10 seconds elapsed between the keeper coming out of his area and Wilson striking – which was 5 seconds following the clearance.

"It seemed to me like the keeper was out of the area for ages," Wilson remarked.

"I was surprised not one of the defenders returned to the line. When none of them covered the goal, my eyes lit up somewhat.

"[Destiny] Udogie slipped too, which gave me a little additional opportunity. Then it was all about attempting to make the correct connection and place it towards goal. I felt a positive feeling, the moment it left my foot, that it was heading in."

'During in a Bad Spell, Everything Seems to Work Against You'

Although Vicario's error led coverage, this was an all-round bad day for Tottenham to continue their home ground woes.

The match was their 10th at home defeat of 2025 in the league, a joint team record matching nineteen ninety-four and two thousand and three.

They still have home fixtures against the manager's old side the Bees and title holders the Reds to play prior to the close of the year.

Just a single of those victories have occurred after the manager replaced his predecessor in the summer.

"If you are behind 2-0 following the opening, there is a mountain to overcome," said Frank.

"When you're in a bad spell, all aspects seems to go against you too – the first was a redirected attempt, the next is a error from Vic.

"This result puts us in a place where we have lost another match. Every game has a single narrative, today we were defeated in the first six minutes.

"We just need to continue striving. The second half was significantly improved and with luck something we can use to develop."

Spurs have been defeated in 4 straight home capital clashes for the first time in the top division.

Furthermore they are averaging nine point five shots and three point two efforts on goal per game in the Premier League – their lowest averages on file in a single season (since at least 2003-04).

Ex- Fulham midfielder Murphy commented that Frank has to ride the storm.

"He must take the stick," Murphy said. "He's accepted a high profile role at a huge football club with enormous anticipation. There is scrutiny and duty that accompanies that.
