President Trump Calls Families of Attacked Guard Members to the White House
President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to come to the White House.
He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.
Details on the Devastating Event
US army specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.
Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in grave state.
Gatherings across West Virginia have taken place in their memory.
Presidential Invitation
The president stated he’s proposed a visit to the White House for the families of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.
“I told them: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president informed journalists. “And likewise with him, no matter the outcome.”
Public Response
Community members gathered over the past few days at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.
Both she and Wolfe had been working with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to aid policing efforts in Washington DC.
Honoring Sarah Beckstrom
“She was the kind of student that teachers wished for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the head of Beckstrom’s previous school, stated to the press. “She was kind, considerate and always willing to support those in need.”
Memorial plans for Sarah are in the process of planning.
Judicial Actions and Government Revisions
Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.
The tragedy led the government to pause refugee claims and halt issuing entry permits to possessors of Afghan passports.
Condition of Wolfe
Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the Associated Press.
He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey said on a news program.
Attorney general the attorney general told the program that she aimed to speak to the family.
Impact of Beckstrom
Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a MP with distinction, as stated by the military.
“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had bravery,” Morrisey informed the audience at the memorial. “Though her life was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
