Netflix Selects Ideal Performer for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is poised to exert significant influence in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t take place until season 3, and a adored, popular member has just been cast.

Netflix announced this week that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bentham. Bon Clay has the ability to morph into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a interpretation of that figure reinterpreted as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action show, as in the source material and anime.

The new cast member will work alongside several other recently announced actors set to bring the organization to the screen, featuring head Sir Crocodile, played by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and a familiar face, who also joins the ensemble as the monarch of Alabasta.

Though the role is a key figure of the organization, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Considering season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this signals a notable change in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate more adjustments to the story’s structure.

The actor’s combination of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the role. In addition to their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is set to return for its season two on March 10, 2026.
