Jurgen Klopp says coming back to coach Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who left Liverpool in 2024, remarked that returning someday is an option. The 58-year-old, post a game-changing nine-season tenure featuring continental glory and the Premier League crown since 1990, currently occupies roles as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured England's top flight in the previous campaign, but many fans who adore the manager would be thrilled by the possibility that he may eventually return. In a wide-ranging interview, he told Steven Bartlett: “I said I won't manage another team in England. So that means should it be the Reds...yes. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“Being 58, which suggests I could make the decision down the line, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Pressed on which situations would have to unfold to bring him back to the dugout, Klopp admitted he was not instantly drawn to such a return. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he stated. “No longing for management; No desire to be during downpours through long matches; I'm glad to skip media briefings four times, three times a week or constant media duties each week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room in that context, however, dining out alongside the squad enjoying conversation, is pleasant. We won a lot of games meaning regularly positive atmosphere around the place. I can still hear Van Dijk's laughter ringing in my ears for example.”

Praise for His Successor

He commended for his successor, acknowledging his role for the adjustments which secured the championship in the previous season. The team has suffered a string of losses across various tournaments post heavy investment, but he rubbished the notion of it representing a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, incredible player. It’s a really good thoughtfully assembled roster. No need for concern regarding the Reds, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling on the loss of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in while in charge, and the effect at the club. The forward was killed in a vehicle collision alongside his brother this past summer.

“Can you substitute somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding the player himself, his personality mattered. I can’t imagine the team environment without him in it. Putting it into words is tough on this topic. A profound tragedy for all the boys also. Not a single person would cite it for poor performances though it's a fact. You walk in a dressing room which he filled completely. Handling this individually is not easy. Impossible.”
