Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a former doctor stands accused of committing assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
