Football Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, however will the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

A family member told me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

They have got lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's home record, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
