The House Oversight Committee has released a batch of roughly 70 photos secured from the holdings of deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This marks the third such disclosure from a larger collection of in excess of 95,000 photographs the committee has secured from Epstein's holdings. It features photographs of excerpts from the book Lolita inscribed across a woman's body, and censored images of women's foreign passports.

This release occurs just hours before the 19th of December deadline for the Department of Justice to disclose all files associated with its investigation into Epstein.

"These photographs pose further queries about what exactly the Department of Justice has in its possession," remarked the ranking member of the committee, Robert Garcia.

What is in the Images Disclosed

Several of the photos released on this week depict Epstein speaking with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky inside a private plane; Bill Gates positioned beside a individual whose features is obscured; Steve Bannon positioned at a table across from Epstein, and ex- Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a evening meal.

These are the latest high-net-worth, powerful men to be pictured in Epstein property photographs published by the committee - earlier released images also show US President Donald Trump and ex-president Bill Clinton, as well as director Woody Allen, ex- US Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers, attorney Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and additional individuals.

Appearing in the photographs is is not considered proof of any illegal activity, and a number of the photographed figures have stated they were in no way participating in Epstein's illegal activity.

In a press release accompanying the photograph release, Democratic members on the US House Oversight Committee noted the Epstein estate did not provide background information or timeframes for the images.

"Images were selected to furnish the American people with openness into a representative sample of the photos received from the estate, and to provide insights into Epstein's associates and his extremely troubling behavior," the announcement reads.

The release also features multiple photographs of passages from the Vladimir Nabokov novel Lolita penned in ink across various areas of a female's body, like her upper body, lower extremity, hip, and back. Lolita tells the tale of a adolescent who was exploited by a middle-aged literature professor.

An example of a passage from the novel written across a female's upper body reads, "Lo-lee-ta: the point of the tongue traveling of three steps down the palate to land, at three, on the teeth".

The release also contains a number of photographs of women's travel documents and identification documents from states worldwide, like Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

Most of the data on the papers, including names and dates of birth, is censored but the panel said in a announcement that the travel documents belong to "individuals whom Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators were interacting with".

A further photo shows Epstein sitting at a table in close proximity flanked by three women whose faces have been censored - one has her palm on Epstein's torso under his shirt, and another individual is leaning to look at a close-by laptop. Epstein appears to be aiding the third individual fasten a wristband.

A further photo released is a capture of digital messages from an unidentified person who states they have been provided "some girls" and are requesting "$$1,000 for each individual".

Photo Publication Occurs Prior to DOJ Due Date

The panel has a vast number of photos in its possession from the Epstein estate, which are "both disturbing and ordinary," its press release on this week explained.

The oversight panel first subpoenaed the holdings of Epstein, who passed away in a New York correctional facility in 2019 while awaiting trial on accusations of sex trafficking crimes, in August.

The images and records the Epstein estate gave to the body are distinct from what is largely called "Epstein-related records". Those are documents within the justice department's possession connected to its separate probe into Epstein.

In accordance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which the President made law in November, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to disclose its records. The extent of what is included in the DOJ's files is not publicly known, and it's likely that a large amount of the content will be significantly censored, akin to House Oversight Committee releases
